Tri-speed in Sterling, VA is really good, I think they recently changed their name but the phone number is 571-434-1960. Very nice people! We also have Tri-bonzi in Falls Church, VA. In Georgetown we have two nice high-end bike shops right off M-street, I like to go in there and dream. Tri-speed is also located in the Baltimore area.

Good lord Dave, don’t tell me that I just sent in my resume for a job in Arlington, VA. if there’s no good cycling, i might not take the job if they offer it to me!!! Seriously though, is there a tri community there? Do you have to go to a park everytime you want to ride (like in Manhattan)?

Troy Jacobson opened a store in Maryland several years ago. Never been there as I live to far away but it’s prbably worth checking out.
I wouldn’t be so quick to say cycling in the D.C. area sucks, there are places, you just have to look and maybe not be too shy about riding in traffic. Its better there then in Fredericksburg where I train at college. I always look forward to breaks when I go home to D.C. and average only 2 “hey babys” or “stupid cyclists!” from rednecks per ride, versus the 8-10 I get here.
For good tri stores, try Bonzai Tri in Falls Church VA, for a great cycling store try Spokes Etc.
There are clubs too, like RATS and Northern VA Velo Club, and so forth, and if all else fails I’ll be more then happy to ride with ya.
Been to the one in Timonium, MD and wasn’t very impressed as it was very limited in what it had to offer. But then again, everything is bigger in TX, right?
