Tri shops in Toronto?

What tri shops do you guys goto near downtown Toronto? I’ve gone to all the Endurosport locations, Dukes, Urbane and some others on Bloor and the Danforth but seeing as how I just found out about ‘Hellovelo’ from the fitting pages on here there have to be more i dont yet know of…

So whats your favorite Tri gear stores in Toronto?

Where would you guys recommend getting a bike fitting done downtown?

Also- are there any good trainning groups in the area? This was my first season doing tris and I would really like to start doing some group rides / runs.

I think endurosport is probably the best place for a fit in Toronto.

If you’re looking for a training group, I would suggest the University of Toronto triathlon club, which consists of many community members.

Thanks! I’ll check out UofT

Not downtown Toronto but Gears in Mississauga is good. Scott just recently fit me (FIST) there and am very happy. I know a few that have gone to La Bicicletta in mid town Toronto and were happy as well. Definitely ask for Heath if you go there. The Toronto Triathlon Club is a good option for training. For indoor training Absolute Endurance is a great place as well.

Wheels of Bloor also carries a range of Tri bikes.

They seem to have a lot of New-old-stock (NOS) Cervelos. I was in there this summer and they were trying to sell us a Cervelo P3 (the red an white model, 650c) for $1500. They had a range of sizes too. They also had the P2K, dual, and P2SL (the yellow one) models. Pretty good deals if you don’t want to bust the bank.

Enduro is a very solid choice.

You’d also do well by making the schlep north to Running Free, in Markham. While they don’t have bikes, they have one of the best gear selections in the city. And they have, by far, the best selection of running/trail/track shoes around. They’re very good with shoe fitting, know their stuff, and have zero attitude. In the spirit of transparency, I am on their store team, but I was a huge fan long before that. They can also hook you up with Rick Choy, who’s affiliated with the store and does a great bike fit. He may be mobile, too.

Agreed Wheels probably has the best range of Tri bikes in the city. They carry Cervelo, Felt, Look, Devinci, Orbea and Argon. You will get great value from them. I have bought all of my bikes them over the last 5 or so years. They will get you onto the right size bike but I would not say they are the best fitters in the city though. I do highly recommend them.

Hey Thanks for the tip guys. Cant wait to hear what they say.

I think we were actually looking at a 54cm P3, 650c. I hope it’s there for you.

I will add one more thing. Be careful about the “salesmen” advice. I found a couple of the guys working there were more interested in making things fit, rather than finding the bike that best fits you. I was looking at an aero helmet at the time and they were just a little too small at the back on my head. Since they didn’t have other sizes available, the salesman just suggested that I carve out the protective foam at the back!

Thanks for the tip on Bikes on Bloor, cool shop. They have more Thor was there last week apparently.

Still looking for an older P3 frame- 51-54
