Tri shops/ bike shops in NYC

I know that Ultimate Triathlon recently opened
can anyone recommend other good bike shops/ tri shops in New York City, preferably Manhattan
Also, I read a link about someone opening a shop in Brooklyn… could you please send me a link about where I can find your shop
Thanks

Toga Bikes on 64th and West End carries Cervelo , Guru, Litespeed, Cannondale, and Giant tri and road bikes among others.
Also carry Orca, Ironman and Xterra wetsuits.
Mechanics are first rate and number among them the top cyclists in NYC. One of them beat Marty Nothstein among other pros to win Mt. Holly road race last summer.

The shop in Brooklyn is Jack Rabbit, at 151 7th Ave in Park Slope between Carroll Street and Garfield Place. The phone number is 718 636-9000 and the web site is www.jackrbt.com

thanks for the two shops
anyone else on this forum from the nyc area?
and anyone know of any other shops?
I know Manhattan is an island, but there are a lot of people on it
thanks

Toga Bikes has a sister shop called Gotham Bikes:

On the upper east side there is Larry & Jeff’s:

Also in Brooklyn is R&A Cycles:

I used Bike Works on the Lower East Side (www.bikecult.com). You will find a lot of bike messengers and Kissena velo folks hanging out there. They don’t carry much inventory and they are not a tri bike shop but they are great for parts and service and knowledgable about most things bike related.

I would also recommend A Bicycle Shop on West 14th. Their service is good, they can get you just about anything. A lot of the tri folk who live downtown work with these guys. Its more mass market bikes (Specialized, Trek, etc.).

There is also a tri store in Brooklyn (not Jack Rabbit) that I hear has good selection but the service is variable. Not sure the name of the place. Maybe tripoet will chime in.

I just stopped by Ultimate Triathlon, it is in Times Square - 165 46th street. You have to ring a bell and go upstairs to the third floor. there’s more info about it on the website (www.ultimatetri.com)

Great store, they’ve got everything you’d need for a triathlon, the staff is knowledgeable and they even carry bikes.

any thoughts on which shop has the best selection for shoes, pedals, and saddles?
my LBS is metro bicycles, i have a mountain and an entry level road from them… I like em because of their 3 year tune up/service policy… can take the bike in as many times with minor tweaks until it feels just right… they unfortunately, do not seem to have a large selection of shoes and pedals, so I am trying to expand my horizons

also, Sids Bikes on 34th btwn 2/3rd seems to have a large selection of bikes from their web site, but were under renovation when i visited it…

Sorry to bump this thread, but does anyone know which of these stores carries the Bell Ghisallo helmet?
