Tri bike fit question

I recently bought a tri bike that I now think is too large for me. When I get into aero position, I feel too stretched out and way uncomfortable - haven’t been able to ride for more than 10-15 minutes in aero position without a break.

In my uneducated, unprofessional opinion, I think the bars need to be both higher up and closer to my seat.

Anyone know of somewhere I can do some research on how aero position is supposed to feel/look? I will probably cave to a professional fit, but would like to tinker a bit on my own so I can get to a more comfortable spot.

Thanks!

Could be a number of things besides being the wrong size frame. Perhaps the stem and/or aero bar are too long.

Can you post some photos of bike and rider on a trainer and we can critique for you. Make sure the camera is centered properly. Do one photo with your foot at 6 o’clock and the others at 12 and 3.

I agree with cerveloguy. Post some pics and you are sure to get a few pointers from fellow slowtwitchers. However, I also believe that a professional positioning can be very useful. Find someone you can trust. Ask around and see who “the guy” is in your area. Good luck!

Don’t forget to look at the owner of this forum for advice. He is, after all, pretty much the inventor of the tri-bike.
