Tri America Irving TX

Anyone know the water temp in Lake Carolyn in Irving TX? Also, does anybody know if we can pick up our packets day of race? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am going thru race withdrawl after dropping out of BSLT last week.

Rusty

I would imagine probably around 81 degrees. ALL the area lakes are now over 79 degrees.

Rusty sorry you dropped out at BSLT was a perfect day for a race especially for that race. I wonder if any one ealse on this forum besides yourself me and ironjack did BSLT.

There were a few of my buddies from NM that did it. I dropped out because I had a cold. I actually felt it coming on late sturday night. I felt OK at the start but by the time I got on the bike my throat was so sore that I could not swallow any water or gatorade. That sucked!!!

Anybody doing the TriAmerica race this weekend? Thanks for the reply Jack. I figured it ws pretty warm since. Anyone know when Packet pick up is?

is 11 AM - 7 PM Saturday at the race site. There doesn’t appear to be Sunday packet pick up.

I might go and watch. I live about 5 miles from the start.

Next Sunday July 4
.

We had a pretty good crew at BSLT with myself, Austintricyclist(Don), and 3 other Austin guys including Josh Lee, who had the 3rd fastest bike split and came in 11th overall…I think. Josh really lit it up on the bike and run, and if he starts swimming, he will be one to keep your eyes on. He’s only 24 and he has the mindset to go far in this sport.

Anyway, sorry you had to drop out. I almost did the same thing, but since my money was paid I raced anyway. I too am thinking of doing Irving Tri America, but no wetsuit will be pretty rough for me.

I did BSLT as well. Had a pretty good race 3 min PR on the course but would have liked to go faster. I’ve done it 3 times and each time I forget how hard it is.

Was thinking about doing it, but I’m sure I won’t. Looks like no packet pick-up on race morning. As far as I could tell from the web-site, looks like a pretty low turnout for the Int’l distance. I think most of the registration happens the night before.
