Trepanation: Would It Be Considered Cheating In Sport?

Anybody here ever give the auger a spin? Just wondering if it would be frowned upon by the major sports federations and governing bodies.

I know a few people who would benefit from this procedure.

I remember before my divorce, money was tight, things were not so cool at home etc. I had a dream that the doctors were drilling a hole in my head to relieve the pressure. Worked in the dream, not so sure about real life though.

Ever read Phillip Pullman’s Dark Materials trilogy?

i hope ure joking…that looks like a awful idea
.

I think that this is an excellent question. I do not, however think that it would violate any rules for any governing bodies, because triathlon and trepanation are somewhat analagous. Otherwise, my friends, when I ask them if they want to do triathlons, would not respond, “I need to do triathlons like I need a hole in my head.”

I’m surprised that people can get away with having a website with so little info. Sure it is full of facts and medical backup (from the 1700’s), but there is never a clear description about how the hole “increases brainbloodflow”. I’m glad I don’t meet people like this in real life. They are the ones that argue with you over the most trivial thing even though they are wrong, and have no merit to their argument. It drives me crazy.

Here’s an instrument we have been using at the Institute with some success for a while now. Here is Dr. Lauren going through a pre-op instrument test:

Of course I’m joking DanTri, but it’d be interesting to see what it’s like for a day, kind of like being 7’ tall for a day. I havn’t read the series you mentioned rgr195, sounds like you might be recommending it? Monk, that’s a nice red X there.

Andy–please. I can’t do your thinking for you. Right click on the picture. Click on properties. Copy and paste the “Address” into your browser window. Click on “Go”. Jeez.

There was a tribe/clan or group in the series that conducted Trepanation as a way to let more “dust” into their brains. The Dust we’re talking about was basically cosmic particles kind of stuff and was suppoed to allow them to hear “god” more directly.

If you’ve read and enjoy the Harry Potter series and/or have kids who do, then the books are a great read. Very interesting underlying commentary on religions and control, but the kids will really get into all the story and characters, like the Armored Bears.
