Treo 700P to track workouts

I’ve used computer tracking software but it’s a pain in the neck to fire up the laptop all the time, and I’ve used written systems but they don’t give me the “Wow, that’s cool!” fix I need. I want to try using my ever handy Treo 700P. The thing goes where ever I go anyway. Does anyone have any experience with some of the “smart phone” software out there?

I track my workouts on an excel spreadsheet which I syncs between my Palm and my computer using Documents to Go software (which most likely came free with your Treo). You could try that. Assuming you know how to use excel, you can design your own sheet to track whatever you want. You can enter data on either the Treo or the desktop and the changes will sync back and forth.

Even if you go a different route on the workout tracker software, you are missing a big part of your Treo’s power if you don’t take advantage of this abilty to synch docs and spreadsheets with your desktop so take a look at Documements to Go if you are not already using it.

I use Docs to Go but I don’t sync them with my computer. I just use it to view and edit email attachments or to store a spreadsheet that I might need to reference later in the day. Does the sync process automatically sync docs to go and I’m just not looking in the right place?

Should I move this post to Tibbs?

Docs to Go Desktop is generally installed on your computer when you set up the basic Palm software so you should see an icon on the left of the Palm Desktop and Docs Open will be in your program list in the Start menu too. (there is a desktop part and a Treo part and both are needed to sync). Once Docs to Go is open, you select documents on your computer you want to sync. Its self explanitory once you get to to this point, just click on the green “plus” sign then find the document you’re after. From that point on, it should sync automatically as part of any regular sync. Once you’re set up, you can also create docs on the Treo too and they will automatically sync onto your computer.
