Tremblant 2015 pre registration

Hi all
Does anyone know if a friend of mine who is competing at the 2014 70.3 at Mont Tremblant would be able to register me for next years (2015) at the end of the race this year? As I won’t be able to make it to this years event.

They don’t do that for 70.3 races. Registration opens months later.

Just as an FYI, participants and volunteers at the Tremblant 70.3 can pre-register for 2015 after the race.

But can they pre-register other people too or only themselves??

As far as I can remember, registration for the 2014 70.3 opened that same day as the full Ironman and it sold out within a day. Assuming they follow the same pattern, I would expect to see registration for next year to open on August 18th for both the full and the half.

This year, pre-registration was only “supposed” to be open for volunteers. I was one of them and having also volunteered last year, I though I deserved a spot…BUT, it seems WTC is not Ok with this pre-registration - last year, 135 pre-registered spots were not completed preventing 135 additional registration to occur.
The organizers are “trying” to honor their announcement and have the volunteers pre-registered, but up to now, they just don’t know if it’ll happen. They took down names and email address’ of those wanting to pre-regsiter and will inform them sometime before official registration opens.

I wasn’t sure what the deal was this year either, I hadn’t read anything, only knew that when I was there last year, they let athletes pre-register.
So later in the afternoon, after the awards, I went over to the table where they were taking payments for folks who qualified for worlds and asked about it.
They said they weren’t really sure this year, that they weren’t really supposed to, but might be anyway…so she took my name and email address, and said I would be hearing from them in a couple weeks.
I’m not really expecting to hear back…will just try to be ready when it opens in August (I think)…
