Trek TTX 9.9 TdF TT

If I had five grand to blow on a new bike, I might be leaning towards the TTX 9.9 vs Cervelo or Scott, with 4 of the top 7 spots in TT today. Ya, I know the cervelo mafia will rant “it’s all the rider”, but no P3C in site. And QR, out to lunch big time…ala Dean Jackson “bursting”.

Rant now…

and how many were juiced?

how many of the top 10 in the final TT were juiced?

“I know the cervelo mafia will rant “it’s all the rider”, but no P3C in site.”

But wouldn’t the tune be different if 4 of the top 7 were P3C’s?

But don’t expect to see ST’ers ebaying their P3C’s and buying Treks. Trek never gets the respect it deserves on ST. Not even when Lance was riding them.

I don’t think theres anything wrong with the Trek TTX, it looks like a solid design to me.

But it’s not a Cervelo!!!

Dude…for XX seconds (whatever it was) you could get a bike that’s nearly $2500 less!!!

I predict Planet X email system will crash tonight. Better buy now…I expect prices to go up.

I still take a P3C myself but I bet the time difference is negligible
.

A better investment would be wind tunnel testing. Cadel lost the tour because his arm position is jacked!

There’s probably more brands out there that have that exact same frame for less…

I just got the BMC TTO1 and would rather ride that than my wife

Don’t blame you

ps …any pics to show …of the bike not your wife.

I think a few of us would agree with that!

I have a TTX but without the one piece aerobar/basebar setup. That is the one change I would make from a stock 9.9. You get far more range of positioning. Well worth the upgrade $$$'s

Give me a minute to forward this post…soon you’ll have no choice!

On the bike, so many good TT designs out now that it really is about what kind of position you can get on said bike. I guess what I’m saying is that since everyone in the tour is on a great design, “it’s not about the bike”.

Not yet, both have awesome bodies, I just last longer on one than the other

In the end fit is a huge part. The guys in the Tour have their bikes tweaked and played with constantly. Get a good fit and you WILL feel the difference.

It’s harder to find 5 grand than it is to find a bike that costs 5 grand.

I would avoid the Scott - I saw one eat up 2 perfectly good disc wheels today.

Good point…all these riders tested positive for PEC’s (Performance enhancing Campagnolo)

LOL, thats exactly what **oleystockboy **said a few posts up…
