Trek Pres/CEO on the importance of Bike Advocacy

There’s a column in this month’s Transportation Alternatives magazine from John Burke, the president and CEO of Trek. It’s pretty interesting - largely from an industry perspective, but it talks about the need for bike companies to spend more money on advocacy.
The article’s on line, but as a .pdf file:

One of the key lines: “we are still spending all of our money on product and marketing. We need to put more money into creating a bicycle friendly world, and that means supporting bicycle advocacy.”

The column isn’t nearly as strident as your average T.A. column, but just having something there from Trek is promising. Hopefully other manufacturers will follow suit.
