3 mins! I love Slowtwitch!
Thanks guys ![]()
The Pro olympic times look goofed. Think they used the olympic times with the sprint distances to calculate the speeds.
We keep saying that these ITU guys are fast! ![]()
My training partner (when she’s not in Boulder and home here in Maine), 1st year AGer Mary Miller took 2nd overall in the OLY. Watch for her…
He had a great, complete race! Way to go!!
Yeah, not bad! I’ll make a man out of him, LOL!!!
Way to go Brian Fleischmann. Super nice guy…and fast.
LOL…55mph on the bike and 2.23/mi on the run…wow… ![]()
Crit-type bike course; flat, flat, flat run. Leads to fast times.
Tri California once again pulled off a flawlessly executed race.
Love the saltwater swim, and fun to watch the pros.
That said, I think I’m done with this race. Six not-very-scenic loops on the bike is just tedious. Especially considering all the great bike courses around here.
TRI SEASON IS OVER … YEAH …

I said that last year, but the end of the season was fast approaching and I had only done one race. So I signed up on not very much training and got a PR run time (yeah), lost my sunglasses (booo), ran down the finish chute by accident after my first run lap (ha ha), and race PR by 2min from last year. The race is so close to my home I really have no excuse for not doing it.
lost my sunglasses (booo)
Maybe Tri California has a lost and found? You know they are so thorough about everything else.
Way to go Brian Fleischmann. Super nice guy…and fast.
Not too mention stylish. Did you see the rock star sunglasses he was sporting?
Plus, a slightly short course, at least on the run, makes for fast times. Unbelievably nice weather for the sprint on Sunday. For the sprint, I think the swim was a tad long, the bike and run are definitely a bit short. But everyone does the same course and the post race food was great.
And the assistant race directors were the bomb (yea KEJ and E!!)
How cold was the water?
the bike and run are definitely a bit short.
My bike computer recorded 25.0 - from the mount line (where I pushed the reset button) back to the rack in transition. Not that my bike computer is the most accurate measuring device, but we know the Olympic and the Sprint bike loops are different - having biked both of them in training, I’m guessing the sprint one is a little short.
They said the water was 60 degrees. I found it comfortable enough but my feet were still numb on the run (despite using toe warmers on the bike). There was virtually no wind. I just wish they would run a street sweeper over the course on Friday. The loose gravel scares me on the tight and crowded corners.
