anybody has any recommendations?
i can get one for free but i live in a flat with people below me so if there isn’t a good method to cut down the noise and vibration i will pass on it.

It helps a bit (like being on carpet, or two yoga mats), but may still annoy the folks downstairs (depends what room you are above, and when you train).
The main benefits IMO is that it protects your floor from scratches, and sweat.

This. Why not get some office grade carpet to put on top of the mat? It is thick, flat and will buffer the noise and vibration. Also, it can be found for free as remnants from any carpet seller.

I use a rubber mat. Still noisy downstairs but does capture all the sweat and there is lts of that.
