My wife is from that area and was visiting her father this weekend. He is a typical northern Michigan MAGA adjacent guy. They were watching the local news coverage and he had to acknowledge his own racism when my wife had to point out that the black guy wasn’t the attacker and the white guy wasn’t the good guy with the gun.

stop trying to make something out of nothing. I live up here in northwest lower Michigan. I was just at that Wal Mart yesterday.

I can assure you that the man with the gun is heralded as nothing but a hero by EVERYONE up here.

I’m not saying that what you stated was untrue…there is simply no reason to bring it up, unless you are lookinig to create tension.
