I know this has been discussed before somewhat. I have size medium (54 cm) Plasma and unfortunately SCOTT is backordered on their soft cases. I have seen a few people post that they were able to fit the bike in a hard case. I have a Tri-All case that I could borrow as I am racing Vineman on 7/22. Any input appreciated.
The Sci-Con Aero soft bag works fine. http://www.bikemania.biz/Sci_Con_Aero_Comfort_Soft_Bicycle_Case_p/scicon_comfortcase.htm
I have used mine for 5 years, no damages to bike after many travels. I don’t have a Scott, but never dismonts my seat (seat height 75cm) or pedals when travelling.
Have you put the soft case in a plane, as in checked-luggage??
I know people do this frequently, but I just don’t see how they don’t get damaged.
I’m picking up my new Plasma today, so this really interests me.
I lent my friend my Trico sports Ironcase to take his Plasma to Alcatraz. Worked fine. It depends on the frame size and seat tube height - where it was cut.
Thanks guys. Has anyone specifically fit it into a Tri All 3 case which is what I have available to me. I may just have to break it down and see if it fits. I am trying to avoid buying a case for this trip if possible.
Hi, i have the tri-all-3 box, and a small Scott. Fits no problem into it. as the others said may depend on your actual seat height, mine is 73, centre bb to top of saddle.
