I’ve ridden from White Lake (just north of Muskegon) up past Silver Lake State Park. Pretty much just followed the Great Lakes Circle Tour route.
Sat 8:30 AM at Loose Spokes in Grand Haven - 20 mi “sprint” ride - http://www.loosespokes.com/
Sun 12:45 AM at Rock and Road in Grand Haven - 40 - 70 mile group ride - http://www.rocknroadcycle.com/
Grand Haven is 7 miles south of Muskegon. I likely be on both rides.
My only word of caution is that “technically” the rides are non-aero bars, but nobody seems to bitch.
There are some nice bike trails in the area that you can get on. Two that I’ve ridden are the** Musketawa Trail** and the** **Hart-Montague Trail. You can find more information about those trails at http://www.visitmuskegon.org/trails.htm
Do not ride the Hart-Montague bike trail. It is poorly maintained. Lots of gravel on the trail, weeds growing up through the asphalt, and pot holes that need to be filled.
If you are interested, there is a group of us who are going to do the GH 1/2 course on Sunday morning. 45 minute swim, ride the bike course and then run for an 1-1.5 hours.
