I was looking at a couple of the soft sided travel bags at Peformance and Nashbar:

Obviously these would only be suited to travelling in my car with me, not for actual shipping. Seems like a reasonably priced alternative to hard-sided cases or car rack. Curious what other users think of these?

An old blanket and a large PVC bag serve the same purpose. If you want to carpool in style and impress your buddies, the above will obviously not be an option for you.
Although those bags from Nashbar and Performance are less conspicuous than the branded (and higher priced) bike-bags, knowledgeable thieves will still be able to figure out what’s in the back-seat.
