Travel and Bike rental ? near SOS tri/New Paltz

Had to DNS SOS this year due to injury. Looking hopefully forward to next year, for various reasons it will be near impossible for me to bring my own bike, so I was thinking perhaps I could rent (it’s only 30 miles, right  and I am in it for the experience, I am not an AG threat).

Anyone aware of road bike rentals in town? Or a town nearby/on the way?

As for travel, my post SOS travels make Albany a much better option, plus it seems closer than NYC, or at least drive time is 1/2 or so. Does flying into Albany make sense? And any bike rentals in Albany for that matter?

Thanks in advance

What size do you ride? We can probably help you out at CM2.

I like flying Albany so if it’s an option I’d say go for it.

Thanks, I’ll let you know if I get in. Looked at shops online and had someone ask around last weekend, but didn’t see any rentals other than beaters.

Ride a 58 road, 57 tri. Either one, tho I imagine a roadie would work better for fit etc…

Thanks for the Albany info too. I’d have to drive back Monday a.m. is there super commuter traffic going that way?

you guys rent? If you do, maybe PM me some info/rates… I still want to come to AmZof…

AP

I’ve never had to go during commuter hours, but I heard it wasn’t so bad.

I ride 56, but we’d likely have your size in stock that weekend. I suppose a “demo ride” could last 30 miles.

LOL, I would appreciate it… I will let you know and keep in touch. Thanks

Oh, just come. We’ve got a shop full of bikes. Demo ride one

Question, do you as a shop have a “no douchbag” clause on rented bikes? That might be something you would maybe want to think about having. Just saying…

Hey, for some reason many people don’t seem to know about it, but - Stewart International (I guess they fly to Canuckistan?) Airport is in Newburgh, just one exit south on the Thruway, and then maybe 5-10 mins from there.

Not necessarily the cheapest airport option, but it is by FAR the closest to NP/SOS/Am-Zof area.

AP - check your PM’s - I’ve got a line on numerous loaner bikes for ya.
Not that tetsuoni’s offer isn’t probably a much better one! That guy really knows how to make an offer one can’t refuse.
