Can anyone recommend free-ware that allows you to pull your existing library off your IPod onto a new PC and dump it back into ITunes? Using ITunes transfer only allows the transfer of purchased songs. Thx for any feedback!
Just copy the Itunes folder to the new machine and that will transfer your music. Then you just have to authorize the new and deauthorize the old. Here is an article on how to use the Ipod to transfer it but you could just copy it across your network if you have one.
Brian - there’s a program out there called CopyPod that’ll allow you to do just that. It’s a free download for a 14-day trial period (I think it’s 14 days). The trial version will only allow you to transfer 100 songs per session, but if you can remember where you left off, you can just pick it back up there and repeat until you’ve got 'em all transferred. I think the website is copypod.com - it’s a small program and downloads quickly - very easy to figure out as well.

Mike - Thanks, I just ended up downloading the paid registration as it’s $20 well spent. Thanks again!
