I’m in the market for a new wheelset for training. Weight and aero really aren’t concerns in training. Any recommendations on an inexpensive and reliable wheelset?
Mavic Open Pro 36 3X with Schwalbe Marathon plus tires if they’ll fit on you bike. I ride crap roads and never {knock wood} flat on these.
I’d definitely suggest something like Open Pros laced to Ultegra hubs for all-around reliability… plus in the odd event of something going wrong it’s much easier to get repair/replacement of just the rim or hub at any competent shop, as opposed to a factory wheel that uses a less-generic rim, hub, and/or spokes which may be difficult to source or re-lace on the cheap.
