Training stoned

hah cant say ive ever done this, but ive heard its kinda interesting to jump on your bike after a smoke.

dude…way too much effort…

well the place i live is a bit of a party place. roommates into that kinda thing etc.

That is what the Mountain Bike is for…

Damned near everything is interesting after a smoke. Er, or so I’ve heard.

But I would absolutely never encourage “training” under the influence of anything. A casual ride around the 'hood or on the trail on a pleasant summer evening, however, would probably be mighty enjoyable. Bring snacks.

I can’t imagine anything more horrible than exercising while stoned. Throwing a frisbee is about as much as I could handle, and then I would need a nap. And some Doritos. And Kool Aid. And a donut.

That is plain stupid. When you crash dont do it near me. To even think about that proves that you are just not so bright.

when i played rugby some of my teammates would train stoned.

“I have heard” that THC is an analgesic, but of course that suggests post-training rather than in-training use. And the fact that rugby players have been known to do it might be taken in and of itself as a counter-recommendation! Hint: don’t smoke it.

I used to play (field) hockey with someone who used to play under the influence. I had no idea until I discovered him “warming up” outside the locker rooms. He claimed he had arthritis and it helped with the pain.

Not so sure about riding a bike though. much more coordination required.

I once lifted weights for an hour totally drunk off my ass. I was in college and was at a party that didn’t last as long as I thought it would. I skipped my weight training to go but since the party ended in an hour, I felt guilty about skipping my workout so I went to the gym. I actually lifted similar amounts to what I normally lifted but I was a bit wobbily.

Huh? Can’t say I’ve ever crashed playing frisbee. Or eating Doritos, for that matter.

I don’t think Record was replying to you jhendric…

The closest I’ve come was having a few beers, then jumping on the trainer with another beer as my hydration. I think the only thing that was endangered that evening was my six-pack.

I know. Just fucking with him.

Not sure about riding stoned, but when I swam in high school, we had several guys that used to get mellow prior to practice, needless to say they were not the fastest on the team.

Now as far as drinking goes, check out any 24 hour mountian bike races. The beer is constantly flowing at these events, if you can’t find a keg your eyes must be closed. Of course these races are more about hanging out with your buds and less about actually racing to win.

I would not advise either substance for any type of training.

If I weren’t so f#&*ing high right now, I would have picked that up.

Drugs is where I get really nuts…

I think that they should all be legal…fuck it…why not? Then what we do is POISON 10% of them…all of them…then you can go ahead…some a bowl, have some crack, shoot up - what ever. Chances are 1 in 10 that it is your last and then society will not need to deal with trash humans for much longer.

I am dead serious. I am all about life in prison for dealers, ZERO tolerance. Have drugs in the car - you loose the car, license and your kids…that simple.

Now what will happen is someone is going to say “Grandmas glaucoma” or “Grandpa’s Chemo”…blah blah blah…PRESCRIPTION drugs that are far more dangerous that most “recreational drugs” are given out every day…and I see nothing wrong with Marajuana…WITH A PRESCRIPTION from a real medical Doctor.

should alcohol be banned too record10ti?

should alcohol be banned too record10ti?
In some instances. I think that the punishment for DUI and Alcohol related crimes should be stiffer (much like federal crimes tend to be). The thing is - if you have a drink near me, I have no effect. If you smoke pot, crack or what not near me, I will be effected. So, ban booze? I would say no…I am also all for banning smoking in any public building nation wide too…California is WAY ahead of the curve on that one.

“Drugs is where I get really nuts…”

I guess so. My dad’s a crack addict. Has been for over 10 years. I watched him lose his wife (remarried, not my mom), his kids, house, job, family, everything. Sometimes I see him dirty and homeless on the street a few blocks from my house. Every few years he calls and he’s got a job and an appartment. His life is the result of the choices he has made, and an inability to deal with the hand he was dealt in life.

Having lost the greatest person I’ve ever known to drugs, you might think I share your stance. But I don’t. They can be bad, and some are worse than others. Some drugs can be enjoyable when used responsibly. Doing Extacy a few times changed my life. Literally. Drugs and out-of-control, stealing, whoring addiction do not always go hand-in-hand.

What about alcohol? It kills more innocent people each year in car accidents than drugs. Should we make it illegal and poison bottles of Miller? Send people to jail and take away their children for selling it? Seems logical and in line with your reasoning.

Maybe my dad is a trash human. (Maybe I am too because I smoke some weed once in a while.) But I pay a shit load in taxes, I take care of my family, and I’m a good person. So fuck you and your Rush Limbaugh diatribe about having to deal with trash humans. You will (hopefully) never understand what that truly means.
