what is the best way to schedule 3 swims, 4 bike rides, and 3 or 4 runs per week … assuming you can do one or two workouts per day and your long ride would be on saturday and long run on sunday
The long ride/long run back-to-back will freak out some here. Depending on your definition of “long” you may want to rethink that. A long run doesn’t seem that hard to work in mid-week, especially with daylight savings.
And there is no “best” way. Probably many ways would get the same results. Some are just clearly better than others.
It’s time dependent really…but for someone like me that has a pretty open schedule I’d do this…keeping in mind I always feel better running after cycling
Sun - short bike/long run
Mon - swim
Tue - bike/run
Wed - swim
Thu - bike/run
Fri- swim
Sat - long ride
.
This is my basic week, you could omit some workouts to get it down to 3,4,4. Make sure that you seperate your 2 BT (break through) workouts and be somewhat fresh for them. I’m not a fan of running the day after a long bike ride or other BT workout although it can be done occasionally.
Mon - easy long swim
Tue - lunch run, pm bike
Wed - long run (BT)
Thu - Swim pull sets- easy bike
Friday - short lunch swim, easy short run
Sat - Masters swim, Long bike/short run (could be BT workout)
Sun - Fun bike/run brick (could be BT workout)
