Training Opinions--Do I have to?

I ran 14 miles Friday at PR. I swam three on Sat. I biked six hours on Sunday. I just swam 2miles. Do i HAVE to go run 8 now? I really don’t want to.

Do you HAVE to? no, course not.

of course, i just rode 20 then lifted, and will run 5 w/ the wife after dinner.

bigger question: why don’t you want to? if you aren’t recovered from the weekend, then take it easy today. no use overtraining or getting injured.

after a hard weekend, if my heartrate is elevated or my legs are particularly tired on Monday, i lounge.

Actually I was psyched up about it all day yesterday, but after the swim, I guess the weekend hit me. I usually consider a day I only swim as a “rest” day. As my “race” approaches, I feel like I have to push the bike and the run, and the only time I can add is on the swim days. I wish I had another six months to prepare.

You’d probably be better off with extra stretching.

Sounds like it’s time to call Monica…
