Saw this on another forum… might turn out to be an interesting post!
Today is Monday so it’s usually my easiest day of the week. My season is only a week from ending and I’ve only a “C” race to go.
Had my A race yesterday, so today I just had an easy 1h bike scheduled… no swim… no run… but as it was raining like hell outside I decided to do it on the trainer. Easy gear, high cadence while watching my latest DVDrip download…
20x100 in the pool, all at 1:25 with 45 sec recovery. Would have liked to get on the bike for 1hr of high cadence work, but its raining like hell here and it will be dark at about 5:30 anyway. No races left for me this season.
I slacked off this morning (I’m in my offseason after all), but I got in a 45-minute run at lunch building into a zone 2 pace after a 10-minute slow warmup. Nice way to wake up the senses & get ready for an afternoon in front of the flickering computer
Ice on a sore achilles, avoiding going down stairs…saturday was my first Iron-distance…won’t be doing any training until my cut toes heal over. Well, maybe I’ll lift easy at the end of the week.
Today I had a quick swim during lunch, 1000yds, then a 2 hour bike that started outside and then moved indoors for the second hour cuz of the rain. I watched most of “Undercover Brother” during the ride.
Easy 25mi on the bike. CLA’d my creaking roadbike headset afterward. This after completely disassembling the entire drivetrain, cleaning, lubing, and installing a new SRAM chain. That quicklink or whatever they call it is a revelation! Count me as an SRAM convert. Easy day.
Cathy, the details are in the “Maylene in person…” thread. Don’t want to take up any more bandwidth! Thanks for at least feigning interest Do you think that’s the first time “feigning” has been used on Slowtwitch?
One hour run at pace, about 8:30mpm one hour yoga immediately after. I am training for an ultra so the only bike I am doing lately is my very short commutes to work.
