What software do you use to generate reports to see if your training is hitting the polarized, threshold or Maffetone models?
I am looking for similar graphs shown in the now famous polarized training lecture here at 13:56.
I have dug through Garmin connect (modern and classic) and strava, but have not found anything close. Those are the only two that I currently use. I believe with Strava premium, you can see similar information for one workout at a time (bars for each: Z1, Z2, Z3…), but nothing that groups those into stacked bars, clumped by day, week, month, etc.
I could definitely work up a spreadsheet, but only will if there is not something better already out there.
Yeah, I’m sure that these studies compiled their own charts.
But in regards to all the other reports generated by these fitness sites, I was hoping one of them would tap into the increasing fervor for polarized training and pander to it.

I simply look at my weekly totals on my iphone from v800 and it’s all there.
You can do it with trianing peaks, WKO, or Golden Cheetah pretty easily with a power distribution chart.
Garmin Connect and Strava are just toys.
I don’t think any power distribution chart can do it properly due to:
the way the power data is assigned to various levels and
the individual variability in level boundaries.
PD charts created in this way would be somewhat distorted compared with what the “polarized” model based on HR suggests.
I’ll check those out. I messed with WKO and Golden cheetah awhile back, but without a power meter, most of the features were grayed out.
Yes, I’d like this to be based on my defined HR zones, so I can clump my runs with my rides.

Both of those have HR distribution charts. Should be easy enough.
In all of those cases you can use bins of your own choosing and heart rate, or power.
But ultimately you do need to actually pay attention to each workout. Otherwise a crit can look like you did polarized training.

Yup, indeed. I would like to be able to display the columns to individual workouts as well as bin them as weeks/months for a broad overview. I am now dusting off WKO and will likely spend a good deal of time importing the last 18 months of workouts it is missing.
Thanks for the tips. I may resurrect this thread if I encounter some kinks.

The software used by many subscribing to the polarized model of training is developed by the Norwegian Oplympiatoppen. It is free to use and it is in both Norwegian (jippi) and English https://www.olt-dagbok.net/#/Login
It also has an Android app
