Is there a 50M pool in or near Boulder? Is there a place to do open water swimming? and if so where?

I think I read here that there is a 50M pool, but I am not sure. For OWS, there is the Boulder Reservoir on 51st St, right off the Diagonal Highway.

There are a number of options in Boulder. You could very well find yourself swimming next to someone who’s won Hawaii or ITU World Championships as well. Check out Scott Carpenter pool.

I heard that you could only swim in boulder res. certain times of the day and you can only swim in a very small roped off area?? Are there any other places to do OW swims?
If you want to go south all the way to chatfield reservior, there is always the ‘gravel pond’. Check out Colorado Master Swimmer (COMSA).
AFAIK, it’s the only other ‘Open Water’ swimming available of any distance. It’s available Mon & Wed 4 - 7 pm and Sat 7 - 10 AM
You could always do the stroke and stride series on thurs nights at the boulder res.

I’d highly recommend the stroke and stride on Thursday nights at the Boulder Res. It’s a bit pricy, but the cost does include a post-race meal (Subway sandwiches). You can also swim at the Res during the day in the roped-off area.
I think Union Res in Longmont has open water swimming on Tues and Thur evenings.
