I am going to be spending the summer at Panama City, Florida, where it is fairly flat. Anybody have any good ideas for preparing for the hilly course at IM Moo while I’m down there? Thanks–

you can actually get some nice rolling hills if you drive north of PC up towards the interstate. Up around the Sunny Hills area.
Ride the overpass on Hwy 78 (?), go down the road .5 miles, turn around…do it again.
Climbing is just higher power/lower cadence riding. Gear higher, drop the cadence. If you usually turn 200w (or say 20mph) on the flats at 90 cadence, just drop your cadence to 70 and hold that same power or speed. Easy.
Wind works, too.
Hammer up parking garages.
I live in West Texas. We don’t have a lot of hills but have plenty of wind.
What I do while riding against the wind is gear up and “climb” standing into the wind.

Ride the 53x12 against the wind
Ride upwind in a large gear (watch your knees) plus find a small climb and overspin.
I have actually planned my vacation this year to ride and climb hills, I will be spending a week in one of the hilliest parts of michigan.
spot,
I live in PC Beach. Ride N on Hwy 77 and you will end up in Sunny Hills. Pretty good hills. We have a 5 hour loop we do. PM me and I will give you specifics. Some great hills. If you don’t want to ride that long you can drive to Sunny Hills and leave from there. It is about a 3hr loop from Sunny Hills. You can always do the IM FL course, some decent rollers on Hwy 20.
