in a few days I am leaving Europe to spend some time in Australia. I expect being in or close to Noosa from beginning of January till end of February to train for Iroman Francfort and I would need some advise.
First of all I have no idea what clothing I need to train in Australia in that season. I expect that I can leave all my winter equipment like leg warmers, winter jacket at home but is it useful to take some stuff against rain? Rain jacket, shoe covers? Maybe someone could give me a hint what is useful in that area for biking and running.
Then I won’t take a bike with me (surfboards currently have priority). Are there shops where I might find a used triathlon or race bike for training? Won’t need any fancy for that time.
Well and then I would need a place to sleep and maybe a car to move a bit around. So if someone from that area knows anybody who is renting a small flat for 2 persons (for my lovely girl friend and me) or plans to sell or lease a basic car, I would be more than happy if I could get some hints.
And if there is anybody who would like to show me a bit the place on a bike and train with me I would be more than happy.
Would be great if anybody could give me some advise. Lens

I can only advise on the clothing side of it - I would take a rain jacket and arm warmers just in case, but it will be warm at that time of year, so I wouldn’t worry about full winter gear.
It is a nice part of the world - I would be surprised if you can’t find people to help you out with the other stuff.
Hey, an excellent choice indeed. I live just near Mooloolaba about 40km south of Noosa.
Noosa can be a bit elitist and expensive but the countryside is great, particularly the hinterland.
January is normally very hot and humid, you will not need a jacket or arm warmers. There are predictions that we may have a wet spell over Christmas/January.
there is an awesome national park at Noosa that has some popular trails for running/walking. There are also many cycling routes in the area.
I think the local tri club is Noosa Triathletes. There is also Sunshine Coast Tri Club.
Not sure about which shops actually hire out decent bikes, not aware of any in my area. Plenty hire out town-type bikes but not racers.
Hey thanks for your feedback. Glad to hear that I can remove one or two KGs of clothing from my luggage :). For the bike I believe that I have to buy one for the two months. Maybe I’ll ask in the local tri clubs.
I’m also planning to stay at Noosa for 2 months of training. Can you recommend this? How was the Biking compared to europe? What about Running in Noosa?
Would be nice to hear from you.
