Man I need to do more of it. Every time I crank out a trail run, I am left just riding the buzz. There is something about the motion of the trees and bushes, the views and the vistas, the serenity of the only sound being your footsteps, heart beat, and the soft rustle of a breeze that make them a lot more special than the road or worse yet, the dreadmill.
Trail running is peaceful and relaxing…I love the feeling of watching the greenery rush by me. Although I’m stuck running on a treadmill now, I can’t wait to get back to NC to get back into it. Great pics.
Ran it on Sunday, again awesome weather. Too bad we missed each other. It was actually my first time up there. I ran from Rudasill and Sandario, and it was a little brutal. I underestimated it a bit (my longest run in several months), but it was still a great run. Sore today… I put some more pictures and a bit of video on my blog. I’m going to try to round up some people to run from the Desert Museum sometime in the next month or two. My usual Sunday run is somewhere around Yetman, lately going from Sarasota across to Starr Pass and back.
I usually run Wasson from the musuem and make it a loop by coming back over the saddle and down the west side. Yetman I usually run from Starr Pass and do the loop, or out and back to the Gates Pass parking lot. Also do 36th st., and Krine also.
Here’s a trail to run. The Bridger Ridge trail near Bozeman Mt. The views are some of the best anywhere. The trail climbs from 7000 to 9200 in 2 miles then continues along the ridge top for almost 20 miles bouncing between 7500-8500’ before dropping to 5000’ in the last 3 miles. The twin topped peak in the distance in the photo is the last high point on the trail.
Agreed that looks like a spectacular run. There is a similar run fairly close to here (NorCal) in Lassen NP. Its still a bit cold up there, but this summer I’ll try to run it and get a few pics. Very similar looking.
