you write this as a joke, but I heard interesting stuff from the Lab in Chatenay Malabry where they do all the tests for the Tour…
I have to agree with Jern on this one. I do not think Armstrong will retire for long. None of them can. MJ, Wayne G., all boxers, a ton of baseball players, even Jimmy Conners. What makes you think Lance is any different?? If anything, I bet he will be more apt to come out of “retirement”. He misses his kids growing up, but I do not think the boredom of everyday living will do for him.
I can’t think of one cyclist at the top that retired and came back though…cycling is a really demanding sport
.
Basso
.
But who has gone out on top like Lance is doing??
Eddy Merckx…
I should have expected that answer from the Lance adorating crowd…
Check the Palmares of
Eddy Merckx
Bernard Hinault
Jacques Anquetil
Gary: how much does david z. weigh?
3 - 4 kg too much to be a GC contender according to Riis.
Riis says he might become a GC contender if he looses 3 -4 kg.
that looks about right, but I heard rumors that Balco is back and will backing a cycling team-
The Director Sportifs are Mrs Rumsas and Mrs Frigo- Willie Voet is the masseur
Bruno Roussel (former DS Festina) will be the team advisor with Virenque
And Dr. Ferrari and Armstrong at training coaches.
I think it will be Basso… I don’t think DISCO have any chance… when Lance retires ( who know’s if he really will retire next year … ) the EGO’s will be high up in Disco to find the next leader… as a time they will be destroyed…
Hincappe (TDF belongs to the Americans now)
.
One of the reasons he will retire on top - keeps the value of his endorsements up vs. fading away. He’s capitalizing on that big time right now. Why try for eight when seven is two more than anyone else?
"Eddy Merckx… "
he did not go out on top, he ended up 6th in his last Tour and faded into retirement
Dave Z weighs 147 lbs and is 6’ tall
.
Come on Frenchie, spill it.

I wouldn’t discount whoever the leader of Discovery is. They pulled the rabbit out of the hat at the Giro when nobody expected them to challenge. Who knows? Maybe they can get the triple crown this year.

so why does zabiskie need to lose 10 pounds if he’s currently 147? lance is listed at 165 pounds…and is shorter. this doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me…unless lance is actually much, MUCH lighter than his listed weight.

What kind of interesting stuff?
