Tour Of Cali : spectating, riding before & after

Specifically stage 2 from Davis to Santa Rosa. I have seen ads offering to take folks on previews of the course on the day of the event.

My plan is basically to ride to a remote location on the course and find a big hill to sit on while they go by. I just want to know the logistics.

Questions:
-At what point do they close the roads?
-Is traffic on these roads beforehand such that riding them would make things difficult / dangerous?
-Are roads free and clear immediately after they pass?
-If I give it everything I got and catch the peloton is there anyone who will stop me? (kidding)

If it is like prior years, it is a rolling closure and after last CHP car goes by, it is open. If you are looking for a big climb to watch from check out Howell or Calistoga Rd just outside Calistoga. If you do the later, you could always ride back down the hill and get your car in Calistoga and take Calistoga to Mark West to 101 so you don’t catch the peloton driving.

There is quite a bit of a caravan before and after the main field. You will have to wait for the broom car to finish it’s sweep.
