Torque wrench for bikes

Can anyone recommend where to go to get a torque wrench for bikes? Brank names and pricing would be helpful also.

I went to Home Depot and Sears and they only had HUGE wrenches for contruction sized jobs.

I just need oneto adjust the seat on my P2C that has the slides!

Thanks,
Pete

I have a P3C and asked my LBS the same question and they showed me a small unit from Sears that they use. Tim

got mine at sears. make sure you get the allen wrench adapters.

I got one with a 3/8" drive at Sears for around $20 or $30, IIRC. I also picked up a set of metric allen drives while I was there for around $10.

I agree on the Sears recommendation. I picked up a 1/4" drive unit that reads in inch-pounds. I think the 3/8" units that read in foot-pounds are overkill. 99% of the time you’d be working in their far lowest end, so the accuracy won’t be as good.

My 3/8" measures both ft-lbs and nm, but you’re probably right about it being a bit over the top because I am generally working on one end of the scale.

Look into getting some “friction paste” as well. Syntace makes some, as do other companies.

Syntace also makes a nice torque wrench if you want to spend >$200.

For $200, you could buy an accurate torque wrench.

Syntace makes a great torque wrench.
