My wife wantes to take a trip up to Toronto within the next month or so. Anyone know of any races in Toronto in July or August???
There aren’t any that I am aware of right in Toronto anymore (you wouldn’t want to swim there in July or August anyway). The Trispot Subaru series has a sprint and half IM in Peterborough on July 11th and a sprint tri in Grimsby July 25 (both just over an hour outside of TO) and both are pretty good races (I plan on doing the half in Peterborough and have most years for a long time). The multisport Canada series has a sprint in Cobourg (first time ever for this race and I plan on racing it too) on August 15th. It is also about an hour outside of Toronto. There is also a new race in caledon on July 31 and it is the closest that you’ll get to Toronto all summer (a little over 1/2 an hour if traffic is ok and you’re not staying right downtown). It is a new race that I don’t know much about. If you go to the Ontario Association of Triathletes website www.triathlonontario.com you can see the entire summer schedule of sanctioned races but the ones that I mentioned are the closest to Toronto in July or August. I don’t know about Tri’s in Toronto, but I was just there and if you do go there you MUST visit Endurosport!
That place is fantastic. They are well stocked in everything you need for triathlon, they had plenty of staff on hand, they do lots of seminars etc. and give great advice.
They are just south of the 401 on Leslie.
