If I am Faris, I make a pact with Bjorn to hold of Norman and Torbjorn…
Faris:“Bjorn, no dogging it this winter, you better bag a Kona slot”
Bjorn:“Faris, that soft 4:21 that Torbjorn posted is going down. The bike split world record is going home to Sweden. It can’t be sitting in Denmark…man Denmark is that even a country…”
Faris:“Bjorn, don’t worry about the bike course world record. There are $20K of primes that only you and I are capable of taking. The rest of those dudes can’t swim. Let’s do the 48 min swim and then head out for the two man 300 Watt TT to T2”
Bjorn:“Faris, forget about 300W…its gonna be 350W and then I am racing you to mile 6 to get the second prime”
Faris:“You’ll be looking at my ass by mile 6 of the run, but if you can do it, more power to you. I’m not going to pull a Zabel and try and outsprint you to prime 1 at 650W.”
Bjorn:“Faris, are you drinking Gerolsteiner or something…you’ll need to put out 750W to win that sprint”
Faris:“Whatever, the real race is to Alii Drive”
Bjorn:“I know, but you gotta start somewhere. Frank, do you hear me…how about upping those two primes to $25K each and a set of posercranks so I can learn to run”
…and by laying down some smack, Faris just got himself a 5 min cushion on Stadler and 10 min on the Reid goup going into T2…
Anything that is or has been published on Bjorn isnt very recent- the data that we got after his most recent tests in August- well, lets just say- it can be an interesting race next year.
That’s good to hear, because that 0.29-0.30 number from Allied was, well…pathetic. I’m more aero than that on my road bike.
If Bjorn gets down into the 0.26 range…yikes. The nice thing about getting the CdA down low – the windier the course, the better. All of my best bike placings have come on windy days. Torbjorn would have gapped the field by a much larger margin on a normally windy Kona day. No course record perhaps, but the bunch wouldn’t have been so close to him. Faris is also fairly aerodynamically efficient, and would have won the day even in a big howling wind.
Bjorn…are you reading? Did you and Faris have this conversation yet, or is this something that I dreamed up when I was swimming laps of the pool looking at the black line at the bottom…
" I think Batman would win because all he would have to do is include kriptonite in his utlility belt then Superman would be paralyzed and would be vulnerable to any sort of power Batman could display.
Better yet… who wins in a basketball game… Jordan, or a team of 7 foot tall Ditkas?
MJ may have lost a step but Ditka is old and crippled. He wouldn’t stand a chance in hell no matter how many times he multiplied himself. Envision Flash vs. the petrified forest.
Bjorn, is Faris going to give the ST position police a cut for eliminating all your spacers…oooops we forgot, you started the “zero spacer” trend…actually the negative spacer trend :-). Good luck in 2006.
