Top 50 movies all guys should see before they die

The Notebook didn’t make this list?

The Notebook didn’t make this list?

You can keep your man card only if that was a joke.

I think you’ve mistaken this list for the Top 50 movies every gay/metrosexual man must see before he dies.

I saw about 25 of them…

Fred.

Big time joke…

If the list is 88-08, two that MUST be on the list…

  1. Shawshank Redemption

“Get busy living or get busy dying.”

I’ve seen 8 of them, wasn’t impressed by any of the 8.

Sarcasm about The Notebook. Pure sarcasm, sir!

Seriously though, Bullit should be on that list.

Can I have my man card back now?

Can I have my man card back now?

Okay, but you’re on 30 days’ probation. No sensitive stuff or we’ll be back with a shredder and a man-purse.

37…quite a lot of those weren’t any good, I don’t think I’ll be rushing to rent the others. There’s only a handful of genuinely good stuff in there. This list was compiled by people who are utter idiots.

46 here, but I agree that there are some missing and ome shitty movies on that list.

I never found Tarantino films to be all that clever…extremely over rated would be my description.

You and I risk serious social isolation for daring to suggest that “Quinten’s” movies aren’t the end-all be all.

31 for me.

I’d like to point out that what THEY view as a “guy movie” and what I view as a guy movie are two different things.

I guess I’m surprised that Legends of the Fall and Meet Joe Black were absent from the list.

Gentlemen, let me tell you this right now, Oceans 11 (the remake) is NOT a guy movie. When your wife is “dying to see it” and then is “marinating” (as one of my buddy’s puts it) the whole time she’s watching it … it’s NOT a guy movie. Ocean’s 11? A guy movie?

As for Sin City, I thought that movie was brilliant, and I was not sure I’d like it even though I’m a fan of Frank Miller. I thought the whole concept and adaptation was original. I don’t think I want to see the movie again, or another one like it, but just seeing it once, as an original, unique film was pretty darn cool. If a graphic novel were a movie, it’d be Sin City. Mission accomplished.

Tommy Boy was NOT on the list … hence, the list is a fraud. wink

I just KNEW that Fught Club was going to be top 5 on THIS list. That’s like THE guy movie for metrosexuals that think that 5’9 160 pounds is “Buff”. [Note: I did, however, refer to this movie when teaching my freshman physical science class about “saponification”, the making of soap.)

All 3 Bourne’s weren’t on the list. That’s the equivalent of leaving off the Die Hard series and the Lethal Weapon series off the “All-Time Guys Movie” list.

Knocked Up and Superbad are on the top 10 comedy list.

'Nuff said.

I strongly disagree with the junior high kids that made up the list.

Sadly 45/50 for me. I guess it helps being a Canadian in that my winter training usually involves at least 6 movies a week. I have 2 for tonight on the trainer and 3 for tomorrow.

Neither Shoot 'Em Up nor Hitman is on the list. Amazing.

I agree, the list seemsed to be made out by a metrosexual that thinks he knows what a manly movie is. No Chuck Norris?

“No Chuck Norris?”

THANK YOU!

“This list is only for movies from 1988 - 2008.”

In The Heat Of The Night transcends time. It is beyond our tiny ape minds to say where it doesn’t belong. It belongs on this list, in the trunk of a car, in the space shuttle, at the event horizon of a black hole. I hate 98% of all movies I see and could live happily the rest of my days not seeing another movie but even I understand the power of ITHOTN.

Aren’t “guy movies” supossed to be movies that ONLY guys would like? Y’know how chick flics would be movies that only the ladies would want to see?

When I saw Oceans 11 on that list as “guy movie” my gaydar was going crazy. Right then I KNEW Fight Club was top 5. I’m just amazed Legends of the Fall was left off.

exactly!

No Ahluld movies??? Terminator 2 was early 90’s. wasn’t it?

Speed? Black Snake Moan??? If they are gonna put crap on the list, at least make it good crap. Snakes on a Plane, that was good crap (god that movie was awful, but it was funny).

I didn’t see the Matrix on the list. That could have easily replaced the Matador (or Speed).
