Too many slanging matches on ST!?

The Winter must be a bit long in the Northern Hemisphere this year?

What is the first ironman in the USA for 2009?

I reckon they should have still had ironman Arizona up early in the year. What was the reason for the change to the end of the year? It looks so great they could run it twice a year.

On another note, a bit of good old fashioned debate can be fine.

Yep, you are right. It is the silly season on ST and this year seems to be more silly than years past.

It’s like a four month long taper tantrum.

It’s usually a clash of egos more so than ideas.

Thanks for the responses above. Do agree/concur or at least that is how it appears.

So Coeur D’alene on the 21st June is the first full ironman in the USA for 2009???

seems crazy that there are not a couple more full ironman races earlier in the year in the warm parts of the USA??

Not sure the exact reasons behind moving Arizona, but it was either hot, windy, or both. I think it made for a rough day for a lot of people coming off winter training (indoors or in the cold).
Not that weather was, or should be, a reason for moving it; however, the November conditions were pretty much ideal and the times reflected that.
Perhaps they should turn California 1/2 back into a full…dead horse, I know.

From a distance it seems like the WTC are missing out on some revenue by not kicking off earlier in the newyear!?

So am guessing all the triathletes in the USA will be lining up some shorter races at home to get the year started. A shorter race before a full distance ironman is sensible anyway.

Don’t think IMNZ sold out this year. And not sure if the cut-off date is past, but it must be an option. Even for me in NZ it is still costly to get to the start line(2 flights for me to get there.
