Have your round table discussed how crank length might affect(effect) bike fit or position?
How about plumb bob on front or rear of pedal axis?
How about cleat position of shoe–how to best determine and if it affects fit?

Hey Matt, at the beginning of FIST we made the agreement that we each already knew how to deterine a customer’s crank length for a triathlon bike before we got here, so we did not touch on that at all here- we actually made a mutual agreement to not even bring it up, instead agreeing we had it right before we started the FIST process.
The process of K.O.P.S. (Knee Over Pedal Spindle +/-) is not recognized here, although I utilize a version of it at Bikesport, Inc. We do use a plumb bob for a different process.
Here’s an hor’s d ovrs (however you spell it) from FIST, and don’t try this at home… To determine a STARTING cleat position measure the length of the shoe sole and locate the eading edge of the cleat 1/3 back of that length. Simple. Effective. Deadly in the wrong hands… Like many of the secrets developed out here in the desert.
