Tom Demerly passes 6000

6000 posts and counting. Congrats. You could have written a novel by now Tom. Is anyone else even close?

You would think I could spell your name right. It’s on here enough. sorry

Demerly has too.

And he has written two novels, neither one published, but I got a good agent in New York…

yikes…I just realized I had posted 958 times. Gotta get a life  Spending way too much time here !

No worries. As I was reminded when I got 5000 posts this is a non-event. It only proves I have no life.

I hope people find my dribble entertaining and informative if not abrasive and oddly insightful.

For some real writing read “Kill Generation”. It is spine tingling.

“Kill Generation”

What’s it about?

Your number of posts is down since you got a girlfriend… I also need to… uh… get my number of posts down

It is about a Marine Force Recon unit in Iraqi Freedom, writtne by an excellent embedded journalist.

It is an interesting insight into a new generation of soldier, the exact antithesis of the “flower power”, peacenic, anti-war stereotype of the Vietnam conscript generation.

These guys are there to do business.

It is a sobering, stark and chilling insight. The writing is voyeuristic and observational. Amazing.

Generation Kill: Devil Dogs, Iceman, Captain America, and the New Face of American War.

Great read. The Marines really came to trust the author (except when he showed an ineptitude with firearms), and he gives an honest account of what they did and saw on the march to Baghdad.

Your drivel is often entertaining, informative, and insightful. I really don’t want to know anything about your dribble, especially if it’s abrasive. If THAT’s a problem, maybe it’s time to visit Dr. Finger.

Seriously, good luck with your novels.

always informative Tom.

Herm…dude…that surpasses the foreskin joke I posted the other day by quantum leaps…my eyes are watering (as would Toms if he went to visit Dr Finger). That gets my post of the day award. Goes away still chuckling.
