You are truly hilarious! Thanks for the laugh ![]()
SorryāIāll put something in the Subject Line to clarify.
āa box of kittylitter and unreturned rented Chick Flicks.ā
you guys really had me going. i believed every word. but then⦠chick flicks? not the tom i know. tranny flicks maybe.
He never gave me a reach around and called me slowman. During ārelationsā he would say āWhoās websites better Slowman?ā Then Iād have to say āYourās is mommy.ā
Things one does for free gear.
Truth is he has moved to NZ and bought a place in the bush.
Itās all over the news hereā¦
Totally hilarious, best post since Thomas Bond made an appearance.
I personally jumped on one of our flights to MSP and then on to DTW on Weds. night just to drive by his store and then sneak in and see if he was there. No joy.
All I found on one of his clothing racks was a few size XXXXXXXXL āladie unmentionablesā-type clothing items and an empty container of Crisco on the floor, near where his repair stands are.
Iām leaving to go back to HNL on Sunday. I plan on making one more sweep of his store, just to see if heās finally blown town on his ultimate āvision questā.
T.
Word on the street was that Tom was building a plane in his shop that could travel around the world twice on one tank of fuel.
He took it to flight about 2 weeks ago.
Bump
.
Nope, Iām not dead. Iāve been dead before, but not now.
Demerley, youāre back!
Words and pics about your various adventures would be good.
I can only speak for the south seas branch of the forum, but, wellā¦we kinda missed ya!
GASP!!! Butā¦but I thought you were dead. Monk said it was true! Tomā¦put down that pedal wrench! No, donāt hurt Slowman Dan, he was just here giving me comfort. No, Tom. Think of the children. Poor little Julian and tiny Francois. Theyāve suffered enough already. What abou the cats?! You know Iāve always lovedā¦(Lights go out, screams pierce the night, credits roll).
SWAK - glad youāre back. Time to thaw out.
Thanks, itās nice to be back.
Bless Tom Demerly for giving us the word āHUGEā. I saw it return the other day in 2 threads in the Lavender room, I thought of Tom, and smiled. I can just picture him saying the phrase āthatās HUGEā for anything and everything, no matter how exemplary or mundane. I love it.
Tom is on my list of folks Iād like to meet before I leave this world.
Reggie Jackson and Darryl Strawberry aside, Demerly was/is āThe Straw that stirs the Drinkā.
For better or worse, we knew more about Tom that we know about some of our relatives. Thatās HUGE! ā¢
Edit: Of course, Iām THE idiot that posts something immediately after Tom posts (me not bothering to read the rest of the thread). Me, THE idiot ⦠I guess there really is a first time for everything. Who knew?
Tom, I know you have only just got back but any ballpark figure as to when you will be up to speed with your PMs etc? I have a lot of extra info, businesswise, requiring your answers including that frame size.
Well, Iām a little disappointed. I thought you would have said āThanks, Friendā.
Er, the fact that he was three years old wasnāt clarification enough?
Styrrell
Oh, I apologize- of course: Thank you. I guess I sort of assumed that sentiment was a given (any wonder Iām single?).
Funny thing. I had an accident once where I thought I wouldnāt survive. I had time to contemplate my life before what I thought at the time might be my demise. I made myself a couple important promises: Given the choice, I will never subject myself willingly to being cold and wet for extended periods. (Iāve broken that one). Iāll do more stuff and not put it off until later.
Have you ever done that college classroom exercise where you write your own epitath (however you spell it) or euology? At least mine would be funny. I had to try to write one for my best friend, Michael R. Rabe, for his funeral. Itās tought to put an important personās life into a 120 second sound bite. Mine could be summed up pretty quickly though.
And yes Sir, Thank youā¦

I had to do this for a 7th grade Christian Ethics class, many, many years ago. I realized years later that it had a very big impact on me and that Iāve tried to live my life so as to leave a positive trail behind. I think itās an exercise that every high school student should do. It is harder doing it for a friend after theyāve passed on.
