Todays 100/100 Run in Pictures

Here’s todays run in Boynton Canyon in pictures. The canyon is about 5 minutes drive behind our house.

I ran 5.5 kilometers into/out of the canyon. It was about 54 degrees and perfectly sunny.

Here’s the sign about 200yds into the trail. The other pictures are taken from the trail to either side of it. Some of the trail is rocky while some is actually an ancient river bed that is all sand.

Wow! Just WOW!

You must have zero problems getting motivated to run in that. Looks like lots of fun.

Damn, very jealous, that looks like an amazing run. I had my long ride today but I often run portions of the Western States that are different in style to what you just showed but are beautiful as well.

Here are some of one of my other favorite NorCal runs: Muir Beach to Rodeo Beach and back:

Starts at Muir Beach:

Picks up the PCT:

Some fun stairs down towards Pirates Cove:

Looking south from the rise:

Eventually you drop into Tennessee Valley:

You cross a bridge before heading up a steep trail:

Up the trail ringed by wild flowers:

Then run back, total of about 13 miles, massively hilly, but totally scenic and one of my favorite runs of all times.

Wow, awesome…we need some pics from the runs going on Europe, Japan, Sri Lanka, China, Mexico and so on!!! This thread could get good!

Those are beautiful shots for sure.

ya, not bad for a cellphone!!

Paul, is there a slowtwitch rate at the inn?

Yep, either PM or give me a call.

You suck. And I mean that as a compliment.

… the runs going on Europe …

oh, you mean the ice-navigating slogs that we do here in Berlin? nobody needs any pictures of this. cold - no problem. ice over all the sidewalks and the park trails - no thanks. still, the grunewald all covered in real snow is rather pretty. i hate carrying a camera when i run, though.

Sedona is beautiful. I need to get up there more often.

Here are a couple of pics from my run this afternoon, about 100 miles south of Sedona:

That looks like a sweet run. Mine are mostly on the treadmill these days.

Who’s in charge of the metric conversions? Last I checked 1.7 miles was only 2.7 km.

Great pics! I ran an ultra on the PCT this summer that passed right through this area…you’ve given me big-time deja vu! I can’t wait to visit the area again…spectacular running.

Damn, all that running I did and I never ran that area. I did part of the Dipsea once, but all the rest over in Tiburon/Belvedere. Doh!

Is that the Javelina trail?

-Jot

Nope. Gateway Loop and Windgate in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.

Hm…may have to try to run there. Love SM, but also like different locations.

Thanks for posting the pictures.

There’s lots of great trails out there - if you want details on trailheads/routes/distances, let me know, or you can also view a map at mcdowellsonoran.org
.

I’ve got two “souvenior” rocks from that trail during a run in early 2007 here in my office. I look at them every day and wish I was there. I am jealous!

man do I miss Sedona!! I cant remember the name of Country Club we trained at with NAU but one of those pictures was of a rock you can see from the courts!
