TOC update live from Valyermo (spoiler)

I just got back down from the mountain here where the KOM spot is, and our buddy George Hincapiue is the now virtual leader of the TOC. THere is a 7 man break that is 6 minutes up on the field, and Andy Schleck is in that group with a teamate. He is way down on GC so he will going for the stage win, which is great news for George. He has a nice small but motivated group to ride with to the finish. I think he is 3 minutes down at the start of the day, so if things hold for him he may have a little lead going into the tt tomorrow. THere are a lot of mountains to go, but since the KOM spot in the last hour, they have gained 20 more seconds, so the chase is either not working, or not on, or they are just riding too hard out front…

Great stage going by here, should be on VS in a few minutes…

George is going to have a hard time getting the group to work with him if there’s a chance he’ll end up with the jersey. Most likely they’ll try to drop him so that the break can be successful, otherwise I’d imagine Columbia-HTC, Garmin and Radioshack will all do work at the front to pull the break back.

Yeah I just saw that. That’s amazing! I’d really love to see George take a stage win and a day in yellow (or even win ToC).

Looks like the lead group may be coming back together again though…
