You live on the CDA bike course right? Could you find out the lake temp. and keep us updated over the weekend if its getting warmer than the 55 I heard. Thanks
Kenney, I could if I had a thermometer. . .I’ll pick one up later today and keep you updated as best I can.
It’s going to be cold. This June has been much more normal than last year- lots of clouds, much more rain, much cooler than last year. It’s beautiful out right now- clear skies, and supposed to get to 70 or so today. But the lake isn’t likely to warm too much in the next two weeks.
CDA is a big lake. The temps can vary by 10 degrees from morning til early evening this time of year. The surface area temp will vary on time of day. What time does the IM start? I’d hazard a guess that if it’s an early morning start, you’ll have temps in the same range as recently reported.
The weather forecast for the next 10 days is temps in the upper seventies for highs and lows in the fiftes. These really aren’t the kind of temps to rise the water temperature a great deal. The highest I think you’ll find CDA in the heat of summer is around 70-73 degrees in the shore areas.
Thanks Did not know if there was something posted locally on the temp.
Start is at 7am I have swam(swum)in 64-65 but not 55. Think I might put some tennis balls in my wetsuit so no one thinks I turned girl…Then again, with those balls after everyone else getting out in 55 degrees maybe some girls will notice!!!
