Tire problem

I just purchased a used HED front wheel with a deep rim. I had to use two valve extenders, one short and the other long, to get the valve above the level of the rim. I mounted a Tufo tubular clincher and used the sealant. I am fully aware that some of you don’t like these tires, but that isn’t the issue. I can’t get air into the tire today. It pumped up last night and it held pressure through the night. However, it won’t take any more. I am happy to report that despite the extended extenders, I kept the valve core at the end of the parade instead of buried in the rim. Is this just a simple matter of removing the valve core and cleaning it?

yes, usually. Sometimes mine gets a little goop on it from the sealant and just needs to be wiped before it will accept more air. A bit of a pain but it is worth.
And for the record I love my Tufos. 2 years on the same tires for training and not one flat. Before that I was flatting once a month. Something to be said for not having to worry about that too much.

Lou, sorry to hear that - sounds like you found the answer. IF you use tubbies, I have a brand new set of Tufo Jet Specials, two boxes of tape and a large tube of sealant, if you want to make a deal.
