Tire advice for CDA Ironman

Looking at riding new tires… Either Grand Prix Supersonics or the Grand Prix 3000. I just got the Supersonics in and they are light… also a bit thinner. Any suggestions or advice taking in the condition of the course and the likely hood of flatting?
