I have a set of Visiontech integrated bars i’d like to repaint from black to chrome (apparently chrome is a much faster and more aerodynamic colour). Any advice on how i should set out to do this? Would tremclad or other hardware store sprays with lots of clearcoat suffice? Any thoughts on priming?

Are the bars all aluminum alloy? I think the paint or coating to choose would highly depend on how well you want it to stick. The best would be a powder coat, but you likely won’t be able to do that yourself. To get a ‘chrome’ finish, I would think that stripping off all of the original paint, then polishing the aluminum parts to high sheen, and then clear coating after that would do you pretty well.
I painted some previously anodised aero bars.
1a) Handle with rubber gloves and place immediately in large plastic bag to prevent dust, finger print contamination etc. (Time the bead blasting to be able to move straight into stage 2)
2a) Decals if applicable.
Finish with gloss coat (maybe not applicable to chrome.)
NB. D.I.Y. very risky and likely to end up as a mess unless you are very experienced.
I also had a frame repainted this way with great results.
