I was wondering since the recession is started and im having to work a lot harder, I wanted to start staying connected while I train, I need to answer emails or phone calls while I am training primarily on the bike, im currently using a iphone. All though there are headphones with a mic in them, however you can effectively answer a phone call using the mic built into the headphones sometimes I think the iphones voice control gets activated cause of that, but I can be wrong do you know of anything that could work? Also are they making an iphone bracket for the tri bike? So that we could see who was calling or if there is an email that comes in. Is there an app that possibly would announce who is calling, like voice caller id. But I suppose that if I mount the iphone in such a manor on the bike that I could see who was calling anyway. Just curious if anyone is staying connected while training or if things are going so well that you don’t need to stay connected, just focus on training. I believe that this trend will last probably for as long as the economic conditions continue well into 2011. At which time I would like to make a return trip to Kona, as you know that demands a lot of training time. So the more reason to start now to see if I can get wired while training, Thanks for any input…btw I saw coach clark answer his cell while I was drafting him at 22mph .he seemed to do just fine but if he had an iphone he sometimes could ignore?
Many of the newer bluetooth headsets will “say” the number that’s calling. I don’t know if you can tie it in with your contacts list so that it says the contact name rather than the phone number - that would be awesome. As for a handlebar mount, check out one of these:

I’ve wondered if the new generation of noise cancellation technology is good enough to be able to talk on the phone while riding (via earpiece/headset) and not have the sound of wind in the mic dominate the call. Of course, you couldn’t very well be doing threshold intervals or hill repeats, but if you’re in the middle of a long ride and need to make a call, it could potentially fit the bill.
i use vmoda headphones but they dont have a mic…ive seen headphones w mic but i dont think i would want to deal w bluetooth as i listen to music while trainig
