I have just read the glowing review of the TiPhoon. I remember the Litespeed Blade getting relatively poor reviews a few years ago based on its wide top tube (no aero benefit, tougher to control in cross winds) and relatively slack angle. The TiPhoon seems to have the same wide top tube as the Blade from a few years ago (the Blade top tube seems to get small each year) and similar geometry.
P.S. I ride a Cannondale road bike w/aero bars and am in the market for a high end tri-bike this year.
In my opinion the Tiphoon is an utterly different bike than the Blade.
Additionally, the only thing the old Blade has in common with the new Blade is the name. I haven’t ridden the new Blade yet, but from what I have seen it is an mmensely improved bike, completely redesigned.
The Tiphoon is also a promising bike and ha been for some time.
No discussion of bikes like this is complete without a mention of the impressive Guru Aero-Ti, the only one of these bikes with carbon fiber seat stays and the impressive Guru workmanship.
