I am interested in the Tiphoon but am a little confused on sizing as they look to be smaller than comparable bikes of the same claimed size. I am a little over 6’ and normally start with a 56 and tweak it. In terms of the QR it looks like either a 57 or 59 would be the starting point with the 59 having a much longer head tube. Can current owners offer feedback? Most of the local shops here only carry Trek, Specialized, etc. I left QR email and voice message but no response yet.
I’m 5’9 and ride a size 53 tiphoon… fits me perfectly
I am 6’1" and ride a 57cm.
What saddle height do you ride? What drop? What effective seat tube angle (or position to the BB)?
I purchased my Tiphoon in the spring of 2003. Bike is a lot faster than I am. I am 6’0" and have a 32 inch inseam. I am riding a 57 and it fits me very well. My top tube measures 55 c/c. I test rode them all…Cervelo, Softride, Kestrel, Giant, Guru, etc. I was looking at a Blade at the time but many reviews of the 2003 Blade were not good. The feel of the bike is just wonderful. Fast on the flats and stiff in a climb. Just wish it would climb faster…I’m working on it!

$1,000 off Lightspeed right now.
I don’t have the exact numbers but in general long legs, do not have a big drop, Saddle nose slightly in front of BB, tend to ride out on the nose of saddle.
Speaking of the current price reductions, is it possible to buy just a Tachyon frame? I’m missing my old Saber that looks pretty much identical to the current Tachyon.
I am 5’10" and ride a 55cm Tiphoon. Inseam is 31". Good luck.
I’m 5’9 and ride a size 53 tiphoon… fits me perfectly

What are your thoughts on why you went with the tiphoon. Did you look at the blade as well? I guess what I am getting at is what are the key differences. People that ride either seem to really love them.
Well, I got the ti-phoon from the Timex Team. To tell you the truth I was a bit nervous before riding the bike, but once I got my position dialed I just love the bike. It fits me very well.
As for the Blade… I guess you have to talk to Herbert about that but here is what he said a few months back…
"There are quite a few differences between a Blade and a Tiphoon and yes there are also some similarities. In terms of geometry, the QR geometry has shorter toptubes as compared to the Litespeed geometry, plus the headangle is steeper on the Blade versus the Tiphoon. QR headtubes are also in general shorter than those on Litespeeds.
In terms of tube shapes, there are significant differences. The toptube on a Blade is quite a bit smaller than the one on the Tiphoon, and tapers to an even smaller diameter towards the seattube. The downtube on the Blade is quite a bit more massive than the downtube on a Tiphoon. The seatstays on a Blade are curved and bladed, while those on a Tiphoon are straight and bladed.
I hope this finds you well.
