TINMAN short?

I seem to remember someone suggesting the Tupper Lake Tinman (1/2 Iron distance) was short (or the run leg was…). Is this true? Can anyone corroborate? And if so, by how much?

Conversely, can anyone advise that it is the proper length?

Thanks, had a great race there with some good times and hoping it is the full deal.

someone posted that they had 13.05 on a Garmin
.

I didn’t hear anything about the run being short.

But I’d like to know what the director was thinking when assigning bright road-construction orange swim caps for the middle wave (same color as the buoys).

luckily those were behind me. Would not have mattered for the way back anyhow as I could not see much of anything except the sun.

I’m the guy that had his Garmin 305 Forerunner come up with 13.05 miles on the run. Based on my past experience with this device and other races, I would basiclly say that we went the full distance for a half marathon i.e. 13.1 miles. Also my Garmin 305 Edge on the bike came up with 55.82 miles on the ride, again I would say that we went the full 56 miles. I know these distances are not exactly what would be textbook correct answers, but I think they are very close. Doing a half iron man and getting a finishers medal that says 0.6 mile swim, 24.8 mile bike, and 6.2 mile run is not close. If you did the event and want the correct medal, e mail the R. D. (they know about the screw up). Tim

The old tinman run course was short, more like 20k, the new one is right on as far as I know (which is about 5 feet).

Ok, thanks for the response, I know GPS has its limitations so given that your numbers were very close, I’m comfortable that the course was accurate.

Don’t care about the finisher’s medal, as soon as I’m home one of my kids gets it…he can’t read yet.
