I like my timex speed/distance system, but the chest strap quit working. I had the battery changed at Wal Mart and shortly after, the back came off of it and there was moisture in the battery compartment. Now it does not work.
I tried using the chest strap from my old timex heart rate watch and it works but the old velcro style strap causes my chest to chafe and bleed.
Anyone ever purchase just the chest strap? Do I have to worry about it not being compatible with my watch?
there are three different straps (that I know of), and it will depend on the model watch you have. Water inside the battery compartment sounds a bit terminal unfortunately…
sorry but good luck. I have to go through Timex customer service whenever a customer needs a new strap. It’s a real hastle. Maybe they are finally selling the straps seperately now, haven’t checked in a while. I’d call Timex directly and see whether you go through them or the dealer you got it from. good luck, Tai
I just had a similar problem, but the strap broke. Yes, they do sell the strap/monitor separately, you have to call Timex directly to do it though. If the strap/monitor is under a year old, you can get a replacement for $7. They were real helpful to me on the phone and with email.
