Timex Bodylink Problem

I bought a bodylink thing last year. Worked well, about how I expected, some signal loss with clouds but most of the time it worked well. Just recently the GPS unit started turning off. I would turn it on and let it get a signal an then start to run. Within a tenth of a mile or two it would loose its signal and turn off, immediately. Like, it would beep, say searching, then turn off within 5 seconds. If I stopped, turned it on and let it get a signal, it would do the same think when I started running again. Any thoughts or suggestions? Anyone else experience this?

Well, ah, check the batteries? I never could get mine to work all that well, but when it does it is great. When I’m “fully geared” for a long (2 hours +) run I look like freakin Batman:

watch, heart rate strap, GPS transeiver on the arm, MyFi XM Satellite radio on a fuel belt with 2 bottles, extra antenna going up my back to my hat, glasses, gu gel in the fuel belt, cell phone in the back fuel belt pocket.

I think they landed on the Moon with less technology than I carry. I could even bring a GPS PDA to complete my Geak outfit if necessary …

I so much like my interval, sprint days with nothing but a pair of shorts, sunglasses and racing flats …

I had the same problem with my GPS unit turning itself off. I put a piece of electrical tape tightly over the batteries and onto the sides of the battery case…never had the GPS turn off again (got that tip from the Timex website). I also do not trust the battery level indicator, and change batteries pretty often.
